Psalm 139:23-24

'Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts. And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.' Psalm 139:23-24

An imperfect physical heart I have just discovered. God will heal at His timing and in His way, that is not for me to ponder. But God looks for a heart that seeks to worship Him, that is for me to work on by His enabling grace.

May this new leg of my journey with Him and you, be truly a heartfelt time of joy in the presence of our Perfect God, Whose Spirit is at this very moment, not just residing in our hearts, but transforming our hearts to be truly the temple for His Spirit.

It is indeed time to come back to the heart of our faith, to live a life where God is the heart of our worship. Do take time to listen to the song "Heart of the Worship" below.

Heart to heart #28 Seeking Alpha (5th June 2012)

Dear....

'....for I do not seek yours, but you...'
              2 Corinthians 12:14

In 2 Corinthians 12, the verse that struck me most, and I presume for the many avid reader of the Word of God is that in 2 Corinthians 12: 7-10 where Apostle Paul spoke about the necessary thorn in his flesh, to keep himself very mindful who we are, and Who God is.

This morning, however, in my quiet time with our Lord, my attention was drawn to this short but succinct line '.. For I do not seek yours, but you' from 2 Corinthians 12:14.
"Gems of Truth," this is the planned title of the third art book that I am waiting upon our Lord as His Spirit leads. Indeed, the Bible is a treasure trove of God breathed wisdom, for the word is God, and God is the word. And in taking time to feed on the word of God, it always amazes me as to how any of the seemingly nondescript pebbles of God breathed scripture can at His timing, shine forth in all it's brilliant clarity, to edify, to assure and to uplift boldly a thirsting soul.

The carnal man spend all his life seeking to meet his selfish needs. The spiritual man learn to seek God first, and in doing so, as his heart is transformed and his mind renewed, he learns to seek for the good of others, and in doing so, he receives the grace of our Lord, that is far exceeds what the devil can dangle.

'And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you , always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.'
        2 Corinthians 9:8

Peace and joy in this fallen world, in all circumstances is what God promises the faithful. And eternity with our blessed Father in the new Heaven when Christ returns. But is this good enough?

"Seeking Alpha," is a financial concept, which  measures if one's investments is generating a return higher than that expected for the risk one takes. Greed and fear, this is what drives the investment world.  Though at this moment of bearish market sentiments,  many fearful investors today are willing to forgo any returns for the safety of capital. Yet, is it not a paradox that the world's biggest debtor, the U.S government is where many are fleeing to in pursuit of safety. Is buying US Treasuries( debt issued by the US government) akin to the chicken running to the fox's den?

What about our journey in life? Are we also not striving to seek that same worldly alpha?
The devil promised the richness of the fallen world to all who are willing to give obeisance to it.  Is it not akin to us featherless chickens going to the same fox's den?

"When we see the Lord’s hand in our lives, it brings forth a deep “Thank You”
and a growing desire to do what He wants us to do.
If we would view through eyes of faith The course of each new day,
We’d quickly see God’s gracious hand In all that comes our way. —D. De Haan"

"If you know that God’s hand is in everything, you can leave everything in God’s hands,
and instead focus on honoring Him in all that we do."

The publisher's of Our Daily Bread sent me a birthday greeting together with the above message. While my biological day of birth is a couple of weeks away, I guess every day is indeed a birthday as one die to Christ and put on the new man. Indeed God is prescient and He has send me this truth, that He is Sovereign. God seeks a thankful rather than a fearful heart.  A daily desire to seek and honor Him will 'open' our eyes to His wonderful hands in our every moment. And let's learn to savor the new day that God bless us with, come what may, for He is Sovereign.

'The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in. From this time forth, and even forevermore.'
            Psalm 121:8

And underlying  the testimonies of the Christian Olympians in the latest RBC leaflet "Crossing the finish line,"(prepared for the London Olympics in July) on what drives them? It is not about being the best athlete, but their relationship with the omnipresent God. Should that not be the same for all of us who call ourselves Christians? That we seek not the riches of the world, but the richness of a life lived in the blessed presence of our Lord.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty."
            Revelation 1:8
